General Summary: Responsible for overall operations of the facility in a safe and efficient manner keeping the company goals and objectives evident. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for running the plant in a safe and efficient manner using the DCS network
• Acts as a backup for the Production Supervisor and has the ability to provide coverage for the supervision of the operators and delegating responsibilities as needed to maintain efficiency in the department.
• Responsible for creating and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as instructed
• Ability to issue Confined Space Permits and Lockout Permits
• Accurately maintain all documents associated with the board operator position; including daily logs, transfers sheets, PM’s, fermenter sheets, permits, and any other documents needing maintained during a shift. 
• Review all processes to ensure accuracy and the highest quality of product.
• Communicate with management all compliance values outside regular limits
• Communicate with the maintenance department to anticipate or fix problems in a timely manner, including writing work requests
• Maintain effective communication with all areas of the plant 
• Support and follow the company’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Completes required training and attends additional training/conferences as recommended by the company.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication, leadership, time-management, attention to detail, ability to react swiftly, and problem solving skills. Possesses good judgment, computer literacy, safety and security knowledge.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training a plus. Understanding of equipment, systems, and processes relevant to the industry. Proficient in using control systems and monitoring tools such as Distributed Control System (DCS) or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with ethanol preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must have ability to lift at least 60 pounds, must have the ability to climb ladders and work at heights of at least 30 feet and manage confined space entry.  Duties may include shoveling of corn or other bulk materials and other duties involving strenuous physical labor. Must have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must have ability to work a 12 hour rotation shift and be willing to work overtime.

Working Conditions: Work areas are exposed to all elements of weather, loud noise, and dusty conditions. Must be able to work safely with exposure to chemicals and while working with heavy moving machinery.
