MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I - Certified Welder na None

We are looking to hire an experienced Certified Welder to join our team. The successful candidate must have a valid certification and a minimum of three years' experience in welding. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding activities on a variety of materials, such as aluminum, copper, steel, and stainless steel. You must have a strong understanding of welding procedures and techniques, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Key Responsibilities

• Welding Techniques Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding. Ability to select the appropriate method based on material type and project requirements.

• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and dimensions. Ensure that all welding work aligns with design requirements.

• Material Preparation: Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and structural integrity. This includes removing rust, paint, and other contaminants.

• Equipment Operation: Operate welding machines and equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure tools are in good working condition and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

• Quality Control: Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications. Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure that welds meet industry standards and project requirements.

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow best practices to minimize risks associated with welding operations.

• Collaboration with Team Members: Work closely with other welders, fabricators, and engineers to complete projects on time. Communicate effectively to resolve any issues and ensure alignment on project goals.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Identify and troubleshoot welding defects or issues during the fabrication process. Implement corrective measures to resolve problems and improve overall quality.

Duties

• Read and interpret welding blueprints and drawings

• Set up welding equipment according to safety regulations and welding procedures

• Inspect and examine welds to locate any defects

• Perform welding tasks such as shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux-cored arc welding, and submerged arc welding

• Repair metal components fabricated by welding, brazing, or thermal and acoustic spraying

• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment

Skills

• Knowledge of welding methods and practices

• Ability to read blueprints and drawings

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding

• Ability to use welding machines, torch, and other equipment

• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner

• Ability to lift heavy objects

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications

• Knowledge of welding techniques, tools and equipment

• Ability to pass welding certification tests

• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures

Starting Wages....

• Starting wage of $29.11 after completion of probationary period pay will increase to $29.56:

Scheduled Shifts & Hours...

• Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Jet Stream is a 24 hour / 7 day a week manufacturing operation. 

Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule if needed. 

Applicants must be able to fully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Excellent Attendance Record – A MUST

• Aggressive, self-motivated maintenance technician with previous experience in industrial manufacturing

• Must possess a detailed understanding of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
• Previous mechanical troubleshooting is desirable but not a requirement.
