The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance and operational delivery at a secure government site in Cessnock within the Hunter region.

This role suits someone with strong facilities experience, whether you’re an established FM or a capable senior professional ready to step into a site leadership role. You’ll draw on your practical knowledge, people skills, and calm problem-solving style to ensure the site runs smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and support reactive and planned maintenance programs to ensure all assets are well-managed and compliant.
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure service delivery meets performance and safety standards.
  • Build positive working relationships with site and client stakeholders, fostering a respectful, solutions-focused culture.
  • Manage reporting, budgeting, and compliance requirements in line with contractual obligations.
  • Provide support and direction to a small on-site team, encouraging teamwork and professional growth.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes and create a well-organised, dependable service environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in Facilities Management or a senior maintenance leadership role in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, WHS compliance, and contractor management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to stay composed and approachable in high-pressure situations.
  • A practical mindset and collaborative style — someone who supports, guides, and works alongside their team.
  • Full Australian working rights (required for site access).
