Department Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Senior Program Coordinator to support a senior surgeon leading a new initiative to elevate the visibility and reputation of Cardiac Surgery in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital’s Marketing and Public Relations teams.

This role balances strategic project support with essential administrative operations, serving as the central hub for coordination and communication in a fast-paced and innovative program. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages day-to-day program activities and daily operations of one or more programs or centers.
  • Develops new programs, processes or systems for manager review to address new or revised program goals and objectives as assigned.
  • Reviews recommendations with manager and develops new procedures for final review.
  • May contribute to the financial management including making budget recommendations, monitoring monthly expenses and reconciling Program/Center and other accounts.
  • Prepare proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  • Provides technical advice and problem-solving assistance related to program goals and objectives; escalates requests to other resources as needed.
  • Coordinates evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Generates periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, assessing trends or changes.
  • Coordinates and leads recruitment efforts that may include reviews of applications, interviews and orientation.
  • Composes written communication and promotional literature for programs and the department.
  • May plan workshops, meetings or conferences, coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Associate degree required. Bachelor's preferred
Experience:
• 5+ years of relevant program, administrative, or project coordination experience
• Demonstrated success in project or program management.
• Experience in marketing, communications, or public relations is highly desirable.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration platforms such as Google Docs, Sheets, and shared drives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional materials for a variety of audiences.
