Responsibilities:

Our newest opportunity is for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager - Regional Waste Infrastructure Lead to join our award-winning team in the UK or Ireland.

 

This newly created role reflects KEO’s ambition to strengthen our capability supporting clients in delivering waste infrastructure projects.

 

It is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional eager to contribute to one of the most dynamic and fast-growing markets, while representing KEO as a regional leader in the UK and Europe - building on our reputation and experience across the Middle East.

 

As Regional Waste Infrastructure Lead, you will guide clients through the full infrastructure development lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility and concept design to construction supervision and final handover. You’ll work across a wide range of projects involving thermal, mechanical, biological, and chemical treatment processes. Additional services will include performing due diligence and acting as Expert Witness.

 

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Waste Management and play a key role in shaping and growing KEO’s capability in this critical sector.

 

We envisage success in this role to include: 

  • Regional Client Leadership: Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with clients. You’ll spend considerable time in client offices and on project sites to ensure our services reflect local needs and expectations.
  • Project Leadership: Lead regional and international projects as Project Manager or Project Director, ensuring alignment with local regulations, environmental policies, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Specialist Technical Input: Provide expert advice on treatment technologies and processes suited to local conditions and market drivers, supported by our global technical network.
  • Advisory Services: Act as a trusted Technical Advisor to public and private sector clients on the delivery of waste infrastructure.
  • Feasibility & Design: Lead feasibility, due diligence and options appraisals, develop basis-of-design documentation, and support procurement and investment decision-making.
  • Design Assurance: Ensure compliance with best practice, health and safety standards, regulations, and user requirements - within defined cost and time limits.
  • Technical Oversight: Prepare, review, and approve technical specifications; evaluate tender documents; and provide technical input across all project phases, from design and construction to commissioning and handover.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Coordinate across disciplines, review subcontractor work, and guide junior engineers in their professional development.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including proven success acting as Lead Technical Advisor through to financial close and as Owner’s Engineer during the construction phase.
  • A Charted Engineer with a Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Deep understanding of waste infrastructure investments, including opportunities and risks across recycling, recovery, and thermal treatment facilities.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
