Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About the Role
Work Schedule: 5/2/4/3 - 9 Hour Days
Reports To: Underground Operations Superintendent
Position Overview:
The key objective of this role is responsible for the management of underground materials and to support the Underground Mine Department. There will also be frequent interaction with other employees and departments requiring the delivery of high-performance customer service with an attention to detail.
This role will report to the Underground Mine Superintendent with direction from the Underground Materials Planner Supervisor.
Camp & Travel Accommodations are not available for this role. Preference may be given to candidates of the Rainy River District.
Duties and Responsibilities Including but not limited to:
- Work closely with UG departments to ensure all items for ongoing project materials are readily available.
- Ensure accurate input of data within ERP system.
- Identify all materials needed for weekly forecasts as well as long term projections.
- Develop, implement and monitor daily plans to proactively reserve necessary parts in advance for UG departments.
- Process all UG Contractor material requests.
- Responsible for return/repair process and submitting all shipping requests.
- Responsible for return to stock process.
- Process all material inventory requests and recommend inventory increase/decreases to Supply chain.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety, health and environmental responsibilities.
- Any additional tasks as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
- Effective written and oral skills.
- Knowledge in Material coordination.
- The ability to work independently while delivering superior results.
- Computer competency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Notebook, Outlook).
- Knowledge and experience of SAP (ERP) systems considered and asset.
- Proven track record showing commitment to health and safety and environmental protection.
- Cross cultural work experience is an asset.
- Valid G driver’s license.
