Spray Technician (Pesticide Applicator) - Landscape and Horticulture
Golden Ocala boasts a refined landscape in the French provincial format with formal hedges, classic gardens and manicured lawns. We are looking to add a team-oriented individual with a passion for beautiful landscaping, professional service and the golf country club atmosphere. This is a high expectation position with the focus on continuing to foster a team environment while enhancing conditions in and around the Club House, common areas, Gates, access areas and golf course beds. Our team concentrates our effort into creating a unique development plan to enhance each team member's skills and focus on work- life balance as a key component. The Spray Technician will work 40 hours per week and a few hours on Saturday once per month. Key Responsibilities
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers safely and effectively to common areas, including club grounds, pathways, gardens, and residential landscapes.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify pest issues and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Maintain accurate records of applications, inventory, and compliance with state regulations.
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and environmentally responsible practices.
- Collaborate with the landscaping team on integrated pest management strategies.
- Perform tasks independently or as part of a team, following established protocols to achieve consistent results.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience as a spray technician in a professional residential, commercial, or municipal environment.
- Valid Florida Pesticide Applicator License (Ornamental and Turf) preferred; candidates without must be willing and able to obtain certification within six months of employment.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous approach to work.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Proven track record of following set protocols, using PPE and equipment correctly, and delivering effectual, prompt, consistent, and dedicated performance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity typical of Florida.
