What You Will Do:
The primary responsibility of the Success Program Director (PD) is to manage the execution of the College Success Program in the region, ensuring that all Success staff work together to accomplish Bottom Line’s goals for the program. The Success Program Director manages the quality of Success programming to ensure the program is delivered in a consistent manner and obtains high impact results. As the leader of the program in the region, the Success Program Director directly manages the Success Team Managers and oversees their development, performance, satisfaction, and retention. In addition, the PD indirectly manages all Success Program staff and is responsible for coaching managers to successfully train, manage, and develop their teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Staff Management & Talent Development – 55%
- Hire, train, manage, and support the efforts of all Success Program staff.
- Manage 3-7 Success Team Managers, each of whom manages a team of 4-7 Success Advisors.
- Create a supportive, positive, inclusive work environment by being available and approachable, and providing management and support that meets the needs of each member of the Success Program staff.
- Maintain positive group dynamics within the team by leading weekly team meetings and supporting Advisors.
- Maintain consistent support for each manager in answering questions, providing support, and resolving issues at all times of the workday and from time to time outside of it.
- Hiring & On-boarding
- Lead the hiring process for all Success Program staff (College Success Advisors and Success Team Managers, for example) roles with support from Human Resources
- Work with the National Program Team and Human Resources to create, deliver, and schedule onboarding and training
- Oversee Staff Development
- Help team members identify areas of growth and set SMART goals
- Work with Human Resources and Regional Leadership to create, schedule, facilitate, and/or reinforce leadership training and development activities for Success Team Managers
- Coach staff through challenges
- Provide ongoing, consistent feedback
- Oversee Staff Performance
- Observe and coach staff interacting with advisors / students
- Pull and analyze data that reflects program benchmarks
- Ensure that team members understand their performance at the present and the standard they are aiming to reach
- Deliver formal annual performance reviews, as well as informal ongoing feedback on a weekly and quarterly basis
- Oversee Staff Retention and Satisfaction
- Demonstrate understanding of all Organizational Policies, and ensure that Success Team upholds these policies
Program Management – 25%
- Manage the quality of Success programming to ensure the program is delivered in a consistent manner and obtains high impact results.
- Ensure that Bottom Line can effectively transition most Success candidates from the Access Program into the Success Program.
- Ensure that Bottom Line can effectively recruit enough Success Direct students to meet our overall goals.
- Communicate, oversee, and achieve site-specific Program Key Performance Indicators.
- Oversee caseload assignment process, consulting with National Program Team and Executive Director.
- Coordinate campus visit logistics for Fall and Spring semesters, ensuring campus visit calendars are coordinated across teams when possible.
- Manage program resources by ensuring that staff have the necessary resources to carry out their daily duties and responsibilities.
- Ensure program is operated within budgetary requirements.
- Coach team and program towards programmatic shifts through a change management and data driven strategy.
Program Planning & Development - 10%
- Set and manage program calendars
- Ensure that Program support projects throughout the year are delegated and completed
- Ensure curriculum is ready and available to staff when needed
- Collaborate with National Program Team on:
- Setting Program benchmarks (Key Performance Indicators)
- Training session development
- Training schedules / plans / calendar
- Program review & recommendations
- Curriculum improvements and updates
- Database developments
Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without advanced notice.
Work Schedule:
10:00a – 6:00p, with additional hours as needed.
Direct Reports:
3 Success Team Managers
Expected Travel:
10-20% - some campus travel with occasional travel to other Bottom Line regions.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and work authorization
- 5 – 7 years of work experience in program management or a related field
- Demonstrated commitment to Bottom Line’s mission, vision, and core values
- 3+ years of staff management experience
- Demonstrated commitment to Bottom Line’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Preferred:
- Familiarity with regional educational and nonprofit landscape a plus
