Job Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and using a proactive problem solving approach to ensure seamless connectivity across the organization.  The incumbent will apply knowledge and experience, including a thorough understanding of networking protocols within LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments and a solid grasp of networking protocols, to achieve this.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain network hardware including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across the network
• Monitor network performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency
• Replace or upgrade faulty network components as needed
• Collaborate with users to troubleshoot and resolve system-related concerns
• Create and maintain documentation for Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations
• Participate in network planning, architecture design, and capacity assessments
• Implement patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure network security and reliability
• Coordinate installations and upgrades with internal teams and external vendors
• Respond to system alerts and lead troubleshooting efforts in complex environments
• Maintain accurate records of network diagrams, device configurations, and backup protocols
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems
• Support network traffic management and contingency planning 

Education Requirements

Minimum:  HS Diploma, or equivalent

Preferred: Bachelor's degree along with relevant technical certifications.

Experience Requirements

Minimum: 1 year of experience with network administration or a related IT role

Preferred: 5 years of experience with network administration or a related IT role
