Department: Assisted Housing  

Reports To: Assistance Director Supervisor, Assisted Housing 

Summary 

Conduct quality review and audit of client and computer files and reports, inspection reports, etc.   Work on special projects as assigned.  Assist in casework processing as needed.  Enter updates in computer system and provide reports as needed/requested to supervisor.   

Essential Job Functions 

  • Conduct quality review and audit of client and computer files and reports, inspections reports, etc., work or special projects as assigned, and provide information to supervisor 
  • Perform systematic internal audit of files and data to determine compliance with established policies and procedures, federal rules and regulations, and the administrative plan 
  • Review calculations for accuracy and determine whether appropriate resources were used 
  • Compare file data to information in computer system 
  • Generate computer reports to determine timeliness of staff actions 
  • Review files for presence of required documentation 
  • Prepare reports of the number and nature of errors, and recommend and follow up on required corrective actions 
  • Develop and recommend forms, manuals, procedural changes to enhance accuracy and consistency  
  • Work on special projects, such as compiling special reviews and analysis and reports  
  • Assist in the overall operation of departments 
  • Input information in computer and update information  
  • Prepare departmental correspondence in accordance with established procedures using computer 
  • Work well with others (staff, clients, the public)  
  • Ability to take directives 
  • Ability to take on new tasks and prioritize 
  • Provide answers and guidance to Counselors regarding policies, regulations and casework. 
  • Process casework actions as needed 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment 
  • Knowledge of HUD and organizational regulations, policies, and procedures 
  • Knowledge of Section 8 program requirements  
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, and vocabulary 
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations and data entry 
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions 
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply HUD and organizational rules, policies, procedures, and instructions 
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment including a computer, fax machine, telephone, copy machine, etc. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, residents, and other employees 
  • Ability to interact with the public, businesses, and other organizations in obtaining and providing information in a polite and efficient manner, both in person, and on the telephone 
  • Ability to use sound judgment in order to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and guidelines 
  • Skill in communicating orally with others, particularly potential residents and residents, in order to explain the lease, payments, deposits, and answer questions 
  • Skill in dealing with people in a polite and diplomatic manner 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Requires an Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, Psychology or related field. 
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible experience in public housing, data management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 
  • Other: Valid Florida Driver’s License Insurable under the agency’s insurance policy
