Civil Construction Superintendent
Location: Reading, PA
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Estimated Salary: $90,000 – $120,000/year (based on experience)
Skillforce has partnered with one of the leading demolition and excavation companies in the industry to find a Civil Construction Superintendent! We’re looking for a seasoned professional to immediately step into a leadership role on active civil construction projects in the Reading, PA area.
Position Overview
As a Civil Construction Superintendent, you will:
- Lead field operations on heavy civil and underground utility projects
- Supervise crews including foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors
- Serve as the primary point of contact between field teams, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily on-site construction activities
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries
- Manage site grading and underground utility installation
- Utilize laser-guided instruments and GPS-based grading systems
- Conduct regular project progress checks and reports
- Enforce safety protocols and compliance with regulations
- Attend project meetings
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, utilities, concrete, and roadway)
- Proven team management and leadership skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient with GPS grading platforms and site layout tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to commute to or relocate to Reading, PA immediately
