Job Summary:
The Psychiatrist provides high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan, with a focus on underserved and complex populations. As part of Care Alliance’s integrated behavioral health team, the Psychiatrist will collaborate with Licensed Independent Social Workers (LISWs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), case managers, primary care providers, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered, trauma-informed care. This role emphasizes diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and collaboration with behavioral health staff to support patients’ recovery and wellness.
Requirements
Competencies/Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care
· Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
· Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications with appropriate follow-up and documentation.
· Provide brief psychotherapy and crisis intervention when appropriate.
· Evaluate medical and psychiatric comorbidities, coordinating care with primary care providers.
Team Collaboration
· Partner with behavioral health staff (e.g., LISWs, LCSWs, case managers, etc.) to ensure comprehensive treatment planning and continuity of care.
· Provide consultation and case discussion with behavioral health staff.
· Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings.
· Support care coordination for patients transitioning between levels of care.
Compliance & Quality
· Document all encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
· Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to behavioral health outcomes.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Required:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with residency training in psychiatry.
- Current license is unrestricted to practice medicine in the State of Ohio.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
- DEA license with ability to prescribe controlled substances.
- Experience in community mental health or integrated care is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Commitment to health equity, trauma-informed care, and working with underserved populations.
