Job Description:

The Photography Studio Assistant role at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” and “Company”) is responsible for assisting the in-house studio photographer with studio workflow as well as with photography tasks and responsibilities. This role is a member of the photo studio team and works with a variety of products to organize, prep and prop them before photographing as well as final image upload to servers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and schedule product photo shoots and due dates.
• Assist in-house studio photographer with photoshoot tasks including, but not limited to, lighting set-up and breakdown, preparing products prior to photoshoot, and product set-up and breakdown.
• Prepare all lifestyle models and product setups.
• Arrange and style products according to the photo style guide.
• Setup product props as required or needed.
• Photograph products and models on a daily basis.
• Assemble, clean and iron products prior to photo shoot, as needed.
• Maintain and organize the product image library.
• Upload final images to online servers.
• Maintain photography and photo studio equipment.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Product photography portfolio is required.
• Two or more years of photography knowledge with the use of a Nikon digital camera, Capture One and studio lighting is required.
• Intermediate knowledge of photography or product photography experience is preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of studio and tabletop photography is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance.
• Intermediate understanding of techniques, equipment and processes related to photography is required.
• Experience capturing and editing video is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop in an Apple/Mac environment is required.
• Basic proficiency in Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

Work Environment:

• Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard
  potential. 
• Responsible for physical activities including using equipment, positioning self to properly complete tasks, moving and transporting photography equipment including, but not limited to, lights, light stands, and Mono camera stands on a frequent basis: Should be able to lift and move 25 lbs on a regular basis.
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule and travel, including overnight stays and multi-day trips to various store locations.

The salary range for this position is between $23.00 - $26.00 / hour. Salary varies based on years of experience.
