Recreational Therapy Assistant | Assisted Living | Breton Woods Campus
We are seeking a full-time Recreational Therapy Assistant for the assisted living residents who live on our beautiful Breton Woods Campus!!
What will you do?
This key team member will be responsible for assisting the Certified Recreational Therapist to embrace and implement the Vibrant Living programming model specifically focusing on Social Engagement and Intellectual Discovery while working to blend all five components of wellness.
- This model supports whole person wellness for residents to enjoy their highest level of functioning and quality of life by ensuring meaningful opportunities.
- The Recreational Therapy Assistant will implement a variety of purposeful social and intellectual opportunities designed by the CTRS that will meet the many different needs, backgrounds, style and preferences of the residents.
- This will give the residents the ability to find fulfillment out of the activity/event that appeals to them the most.
- The Recreational Therapy Assistant is also responsible for fostering relationships with residents that will help them grow, regardless of their age or physical and cognitive abilities.
Full-time schedule:
Monday - Friday (9:00am-5:30pm) and every other Saturday (some evenings and holidays could be required with advanced notice). This position would have a predetermined weekday off prior to their assigned Saturday.
Successful candidates will have:
- Our ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with event planning processes and implementation.
- Experience working with the older adult population is highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, residents, and families is important – this requires courtesy, tact, respect, and patience in all situations.
