Position Overview
Outsight SHIFT Software stack offers a large panel of features to provide real-time tracking of persons, vehicles or other objects in various environments. The solution is highly flexible and can be deployed in a wide range of infrastructures, from a single unit to very large-scale multi-clusters spread over several servers or Cloud instances.
For large installations, it is key to have a consolidated view of all software component logs with high real-time constraints and a large number of distributed components.
We want to develop a state-of-the-art logging tool to manage our heterogeneous software stack and provide first-class logging and debugging capabilities to our Customer Engineering, Software and FAE teams.
The log management tool must include advanced analysis features to identify and deal with complex issues. In addition, it should offer consolidated graphical views and multiple ways of visualizing the data, so that the user can effectively decide how to act on this information.
What will be your responsibilities ?
In coordination with Software and FAE teams:
Define tool specifications and the expected user experience based on targeted internal needs
Search and benchmark existing solutions and how to adapt them for our usage
Participate in the refactoring of SHIFT’s logging architecture in order to maximize the tool’s capabilities
Develop the logging and analysis tool in Python following Outsight’s development policies
Train Outsight teams and provide tool support/enhancements
What are the requirements for the role?
You are autonomous, self-learner and like to work in a committed and dynamic team.
You want to work on cutting-edge technologies by participating in the development and integration of a complete product.
The internship should last 6 months and targets a Bac+5/M2 student in Computer Science or related majors.
Python development experience required, with focus on UI or web interface and system/network libraries
Linux system administration, especially network aspects
Knowledge of any major logging middle-ware (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, ElasticSearch/logstash, …) is a plus
Kubernetes/Docker and orchestration technology knowledge is a plus
Cloud system (Azure, AWS…) knowledge is a plus
