Laser/CNC Operator - Wayland/1st shift na Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.

Our growing company is seeking to hire a 1st shift Laser Operator at our Wayland Michigan location.

This position has a unique schedule: 

One week will work 3 days p/week, the next week will work 4 days p/week - that gives you a 3-day weekend every other week. 

**The scheduled hours are 6am to 6pm**

In addition to a great starting pay of at least $21 p/hour.

• Min. 1 yr. laser experience preferred

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities which include:

• Use hard gages and calipers to confirm part quality
• Utilize forklift and crane to load material into machine
• Operate and troubleshoot machine parameters to ensure premium part quality
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and typically set up multiple jobs per day
• Utilize prints and work instructions to determine cutting specifications

• Ability to understand work orders and follow instructions
• Work with little direction (other than standard procedures)
• Having laser experience is preferred, especially Tube Laser
• Ability to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and procedures
• Demonstrate a dedication to achieving results and be able to sustain high drive and energy
• Knowledge of tubular steel manufacturing and fabrication processes is a PLUS!
