 Fast paced Food Service Distributor is currently seeking experienced Shipping Lead for our Distribution Center. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, organized, team player preferably with a background in food distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the overall supervision of shipping functions within the warehouse/distribution facility.  All of our facilities include ambient, refrigerated and frozen environments.     Scope of Work: Includes, but is not limited to:

• Hands-on daily supervision support for shipping team in a 30K square foot Food Service Distribution Center. 
• Support and communicate goals; team objectives and priorities. 
• Help lead a team with the processing of orders and loading of trucks within time constraints.  
• Focus on error reductions with the shipping team.
• Conduct daily stretch and flex, enforcing all GMP, and safety Policies and Procedures.
• Oversee the PM receiving and drop and fills insuring all paperwork is turned in and completed timely.
• Oversee all aspects of shipping picking (in sequence NO bulk picking and not circumventing the WMS system), stacking (pallets built in reverse stop sequence for driver delivery), and loading.
• Insure all employees are operating powered equipment per MFG instructions and or training. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Support Managers and Supervisors with overseeing the daily activities of the shipping team members working in the warehouse
• Support Managers and Supervisors with goals, objectives and priorities helping to ensure all are being met by team members
• Maintain accurate shipping records
• Review errors and work to reduce them through coaching and development of team members
• Support warehouse management with preparation for AIB, ASI, FDA and other audits as needed
• Perform safety training and review equipment for maintenance needs
• Perform various other tasks as deemed necessary by your supervisor.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 + years in a Leadership role related to warehouse, operations and Distribution
• Food Service experience is highly preferred
• Experience working with Oracle or similar WMS type of software 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Outlook
• Excellent math and analytical skills
• Good manual dexterity; Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis
• The ability to react to day-to-day operational requirements in a professional and timely manner
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding cause and effect, both verbally and in written form
• High degree of attention to detail in all job functions
• Ability to follow instructions, perform tasks and set the example with safe use of all industrial equipment
• Must be forklift certified within first three weeks (Company provides training). 
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of workforce and with minimal supervision

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have high school diploma
• Knowledge of warehousing, receiving and distribution, as well as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) documentation and management.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard warehouse conditions apply.  Long hours spent standing, walking, bending and lifting products.  Operating industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklifts, reach lifts and other required industrial equipment.     Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.  Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot, cold and freezing).
