Description
The Mechanical Engineer will research, design, and test mechanical equipment and machinery.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Designs products such as machines, instruments, and controls.
- Create projects plans and cost analysis
- Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
- Uses computer aided design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.
- Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.
- Research, design and implement R&D process improvements.
- Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design.
- Studies the test data and creates reports to validate designs.
- Work with service shops to develop maintenance procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
- Proficient with SolidWorks computer aided design (CAD) software.
- Able to run FEA analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understands all phases of manufacturing and fabrication of heavy equipment.
- Understands power transmissions, hydraulics, electronics, and engine performance.
- Occasional travel required to evaluate products operating out in the field.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Three years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
