Job Purpose and Function

Villa St. Francis is a ministry of the Catholic Church of Kansas City, Kansas. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in transporting residents to and from appointments and activities in a safe manner. This job enables Villa St. Francis to provide opportunities for resident and family members to stay connected in the community and schedule appointments as needed. This position will report to the Executive Director.  

Shift: Schedule is flexible and can be discussed upon hire. Position will work 20-24 hours per week. Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transporting residents in a safe and professional manner.
  • Responsible for keeping the vehicles and the equipment maintained, ensuring that the vehicle has all necessary supplies.
  • Completion of shift forms, advising correct staff of any changes in shift schedule or patient care.
  • Communicates with supervisor in order to receive relevant information and instructions.
  • Maintain a professional behavior, and attitudes in regards to customers, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Completion of vehicle maintenance inspection prior to daily vehicle usage for safe and comfortable patient transport.
  • Assist with transferring and balancing patients.
  • Required to provide assistance with central supply delivery and breakdown when asked by Supervisor.
  • This position will also facilitate moving Durable Medical Equipment (DME) when a resident moves rooms or no longer needs it. 
  • Other tasks as assigned. 
Requirements

  

Job Requirements

  • KS C.N.A. certificate in good standing
  • Current CPR and First Aide Certification
  • Valid State driver’s license. This license must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to drive
  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass the company required motor vehicle background check and other State relevant background checks.
  • Ability to operate vehicles equipped with wheelchair ramps and lifts, including securement systems. Ability to operate Community vehicles safely; to include non-CDL passenger buses and sedans, demonstrated by successful completion of a road test
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all forms of teams along with handle stress and conflict appropriately.

Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and lift a minimum of 50lbs is required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.

This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for senior residents by providing dependable and compassionate transportation services.

$18-20 DOE
