Fortitude Re is establishing a Center of Excellence (CoE) for consolidated investment reporting, governance, and analytics. This CoE will deliver companywide reporting across GAAP, STAT, Bermuda SFS, and EBS, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and transparency. The Vice President of Investment Reporting & Analytics will oversee reporting across all asset classes and accounting bases, connecting results at the legal entity, reinsurance deal, profit center, and consolidated levels. This role will also lead the Valuation Governance pillar and the Reinsurance Settlements pillar, ensuring consistent methodologies, transparency, and control. The VP will provide clear analysis and narratives for senior leadership, regulators, and auditors, translating complex results into actionable insights. The role reports to the SVP, Investment Accounting Controller. 

 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Fortitude Re’s Consolidated Reporting & Analytics CoE, serving as the enterprise hub for multi-basis, multi-entity investment reporting and governance.
  • Own end-to-end consolidated reporting across GAAP, STAT, Bermuda SFS, and EBS, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Produce companywide investment reporting packages by asset class, legal entity, reinsurance deal, profit center, and consolidated level.
  • Oversee preparation of balance sheet and income roll-forwards, ensuring eliminations and consolidation logic are accurate and controlled.
  • Coordinate inputs from all asset-class pillars and deliver final reporting packages for the CFO, CIO, and auditors.
  • Lead preparation of actual vs actual comparisons (month, quarter, year) and investigate valuation and income variances.
  • Develop and present performance narratives and commentary by reporting basis, legal entity, and reinsurance deal.
  • Oversee management basis reporting, ensuring complex profit center allocations and treaty-level views are accurate.
  • Lead the Valuation Governance pillar, including fair value leveling, stale price monitoring, vendor comparisons, override reviews, and quarterly Fair Value Committee packages.
  • Ensure consistent and transparent valuation methodologies across asset classes, reporting bases, and legal entities.
  • Oversee the Reinsurance Settlements pillar, ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled settlement of funds withheld and ModCo transactions.
  • Ensure reinsurance settlement results tie accurately into consolidated reporting and are audit-ready.
  • Partner with Investments, Risk, Treasury, and Actuarial to ensure reporting aligns with ALM strategies and capital optimization.
  • Maintain SOX/internal control compliance across reporting, valuation governance, and reinsurance settlements.
  • Present consolidated results, valuation assumptions, and governance matters to executive committees, auditors, and regulators.
  • Lead audit responses, ensuring consolidated reporting and valuation documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, ensuring strong collaboration with asset-class CoEs and offshore support.
  • Champion a culture of data integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as Fortitude Re’s senior voice on consolidated reporting and valuation governance with regulators, auditors, and other external parties.

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
  • 12+ years of accounting experience with a focus on mortgage loans, structured lending, or fixed income investments.
  • Deep knowledge of multi-basis reporting (GAAP, STAT, Bermuda SFS, EBS).
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure complete, accurate, and timely processing of complex mortgage loan portfolios.
  • Experience with Clearwater Analytics loan processing; SAP and Palantir experience preferred.
  • Strong technical expertise in valuation governance, including collateral appraisals, LTV/DSCR testing, and impairment methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading CECL allowance modeling and impairment testing for loan portfolios.
  • Demonstrated leadership in SOX/internal controls design and compliance for loan accounting and valuations.
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting to executives, committees, auditors, regulators, and rating agencies.
  • Track record of driving automation, AI adoption, and process transformation in investment accounting.
  • Experience building, leading, and mentoring high-performing teams (including onshore and offshore resources).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to connect results across legal entities, accounting bases, and reinsurance deals to treaty economics and capital optimization.
  • Preferred (optional): Public accounting background or Big 4 experience with insurance/reinsurance or investment clients.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
