Other Qualifications
To provide chair side assistance to a licensed dentist, residents, and undergrad student in the General Practice Residency Clinic.
a. assist dentist and dental students with chair side treatment of patients
b. maintain and stock cabinets/carts
c. instruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry techniques
d. chart patients according toLSUSDsystems (Axium, SchickCDRand computer knowledge)
e. give follow- up home instructions as directed by dentist or student
f. implement and maintain infection control in the work area
g. check inventory and order supplies when needed
h. implement and follow safety guidelines as set forth byLSUHSCSchool of Dentistry andOSHA
i. know dental terminology
j. know correct nomenclature of all dental instruments
k. knowledgeable of computers
Communicating effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
Focusing on Customers: The ability to serve the needs of those who support and/or rely on the services provided.
Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
