Accounting Technician 2 In Juneau!

This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

What You Wil Be Doing:
As an Accounting Technician 2 in the DAS Revenue Section, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial management and reporting of reimbursable revenues related to the Veterans Services budget and Departmental Reimbursable Services Agreements, by processing transactions, maintaining detailed records, reconciling accounts, and supporting compliance with relevant regulations to facilitate transparent and efficient financial operations.

Position Duties

One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.

Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.

Minimum Qualifications

Required documents due at the time of interview:

  • If you are a current of former State of Alaska employee, provide your last two (2) performance evaluations or if you have never been employed with the State, please provide three (3) professional letters of recommendation if evaluations are unavailable. 
  • Three (3) professional references we may contact by phone (must include position titles, and your current supervisor and one former supervisor).  
  • Only include transcripts if using education to meet minimum requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Other requirements for the Position:
May travel to different offices by car or SUV for face-to-face meetings, banking purposes, etc. Civilian workers support the administrative functions of the department which includes National Guard and Homeland Security, which requires confidentiality and the ability to work in a combined civilian and military work environment.

If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed.
