The Assistant Purchaser assist with purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle which includes ordering materials, supplies and equipment, and follow through with vendors on shipment and delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation of procurement documents and agreements for the materials needed to execute the project deliverables.
  • Assist in vendor bid evaluations of proposals and technical evaluations.
  • Prepare purchase order documents and submit purchase order information into online purchasing application for final approval.
  • Submit purchase orders to vendors/subcontractors, obtain and log order acknowledgment.
  • Assist in expediting vendor submittals to support detailed design and delivery of equipment and materials to support construction activities.
  • Assist in preparing procurement status reports and expediting reports.
  • Assist in sourcing and qualifying potential suppliers to provide required goods of service.
  • Assis in preparing procurement packages to engineering and project specifications.
  • Verify supplier pricing, quantity, reliability and industry experience.
  • Assist with compiling "Request for Proposal" (RFP) documents including documents, drawings and specifications.
  • Research pricing information, compare prices and quotations.
  • Compile and present cost comparison and analysis.
  • Assist with Project Procurement Status Material Status Reports
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Law or Construction related field. Required or
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Required
  • Previous internship and/or related consulting experience Preferred
  • Oracle Financial R12 software experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
