It has never been a more exciting time to join the Murdoch University Alumni and Philanthropy team, with the recent news of a $100mil gift - the largest gift for a WA university to receive, that is shaping our future during our 50th Anniversary Year. 

You'll be part of a dynamic group managing various philanthropic initiatives, including major gifts, bequests, annual giving, capital campaigns, and research support. We're committed to enhancing alumni engagement by expanding networks and using innovative communication, events, and programs.

Your New Role!

Due to an internal promotion, a vacancy has arisen for the Philanthropy Manager – Engagement. This role works closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager and Director to cultivate and manage major donor relationships ($50,000 to $1 million). It leads the development and delivery of a highly customised stewardship program to deepen donor engagement and oversees philanthropic campaigns aligned with the university’s strategic priorities. The manager will also build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects to grow philanthropic support. 

Your key responsibilities will include –

  • Develop to deliver tailored donor stewardship plans and engagement activities
  • Manage major gift prospects to meet fundraising targets and support university priorities
  • Represent the Alumni and Philanthropy Office, maintain accurate donor records, and drive new engagement opportunities

This Continuous, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $112,142.00 – $128,341.00 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and minimum five years’ experience, or equivalent
  • Proven success in building long-term donor relationships and delivering fundraising outcomes
  • Strong project management skills, ideally in a not-for-profit or education setting
  • High proficiency in CRM systems and data management
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills
