Vespel® Mechelen Shipping & Packaging Specialist
DuPont has a rich history of scientific discovery that has enabled numerous innovations, and today we are looking for new talent to join our team.
The Vespel® department produces high-quality precision parts that are used in demanding applications in terms of temperature, friction and friction, such as aircraft engines and car transmissions. Vespel® products are custom-made parts and often replace the classic metal parts, ranging from sealing rings to bearings, to save weight and extend the lifespan.
In our department in Mechelen, Vespel® parts are made by means of a polyimide powder pressing process.
We are currently looking for a Shipping & Packaging Specialist for a versatile and challenging job in our Mechelen organisation.
Job content:
The Shipping & Packaging Specialist is responsible for:
- the daily coordination and coaching of the activities in the Shipping department
- packaging and shipping all Vespel® products in accordance with the specifications and Standard Operating Procedures
- supporting the quality team
The tasks include:
- coordination and close cooperation with the planning and customer service department to achieve the objectives in the field of delivery reliability and service quality;
- Preparing and adapting packaging and labelling specifications and instructions in line with customer requirements, as part of the APQP process and beyond. Contact person for the Sales & Marketing organization and customers for all matters related to packaging & labeling of Vespel® parts;
- the management of equipment in the shipping department; ensuring that it is in good condition and leading projects for research and purchase of new equipment;
- the continuous improvement of work processes to further optimize the efficiency and quality of the work delivered, in collaboration with the shipping team;
- drawing up instructions for packaging and sorting at the shops;
- accurate inventory management in the warehouse as SOX inventory Key Control Activities (KCA) owner & the monthly cycle count management;
- monitoring and resolving blocked and pending stock;
- the monitoring and control of logistics costs by means of webcycle handling;
- monitoring the relevant metrics, such as packaging & picking to schedule and cycle count accuracy & drawing up action plans where necessary;
- coordinating and investigating service customer complaints;
- backup of the shipping clerks if necessary to meet the schedule eg. during holiday periods
Your profile:
- Experience with logistics and administration
- Good organizer & coordinator
- Good analytical skills
- Good team player, excellent communication skills
- "hands on" mentality, sense of initiative
- Good knowledge of SAP, preferably Manufacturing (MFG)
- Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English (written and spoken)
- Good digital skills and knowledge of MS Excel & Powerpoint
