How This Role Impacts Live Oak and its People
As a Senior Special Assets Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex and high-risk assets within the Special Assets loan portfolio. In addition to supporting ongoing servicing functions and account maintenance, the Senior Analyst plays a key role in driving process improvement initiatives, ensuring audit readiness, and strengthening internal control frameworks. You will be expected to demonstrate strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of banking processes and regulatory frameworks. This role demands a proactive mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What You’ll Do at Live Oak
SBA Universal Product Packages: Lead the timely preparation and submission of guaranty packages, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Actively engages in correspondence with the SBA, ensuring that inquiries are promptly and appropriately addressed, with involvement from necessary internal stakeholders.
Third-Party Reports: Order and manage third-party reports (appraisals, environmental assessments, equipment valuations), ensuring timely receipt and documentation. Take ownership of high-priority tasks, ensuring alignment with Live Oak’s internal policy standards and regulatory requirements.
Invoice & Workflow Management: Routinely process invoices and manage the overall invoice workflow through ticketing system oversight and monitoring (e.g., Freshservice). Ensure timely and accurate payment processing in adherence to internal controls.
Tax Payments: Promptly execute rush tax payment requests and coordinate internal reporting and tracking mechanisms to ensure timely execution, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
Process Improvement & Strategic Support: Identify areas for improvement across operational and servicing functions and workflows. Provide senior-level support to analysts and cross-functional teams during the rollout of new systems, processes, and controls.
Bankruptcy Tracking and Portfolio Management: Actively engage with bank counsel and Special Assets Officers to develop a thorough understanding of the specific terms and implications of confirmed bankruptcy plans within the Special Assets loan portfolio. Ensure that these terms are adequately monitored through the loan modification process and that billing and payments are appropriately adjusted.
Collateral Record Management: Support Special Assets Collateral Analyst in maintaining complete, current, and accurate collateral records for all asset types managed within the Special Assets portfolio. Ensure data integrity across systems and documentation.
Reporting & Controls: Generate routine and ad hoc collateral reports to support impairment reviews, charge-off decisions, and audit requests. Maintain adequate documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank-owned (OREO) expenses, CPC costs, and recovery payments, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with internal controls.
Loan Operations: Act as a liaison with the Loan Operations department to ensure seamless communication and the accurate application of payments and recoveries

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience in Special Assets, Finance, Credit, or Loan Operations.
Strong understanding of SBA, USDA, and conventional commercial loan programs.
Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and other financial reporting tools.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
Experience in process improvement initiatives and system implementations.
Background in financial analysis, including spreads and performance assessments of complex commercial assets.

The base pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy.
