Requirements

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical design, product development, and drafting, with hands-on experience in creating 2D and 3D models for complex mechanical systems and assemblies.

In this role, you will be responsible for translating conceptual ideas into manufacturable designs, ensuring that performance, reliability, cost, and safety objectives are achieved. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and production to bring innovative and efficient mechanical solutions to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development:
  Develop and design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept to production using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, bill of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Product Lifecycle Management:
  Participate in the entire product development cycle — from ideation, design validation, prototyping, and testing to final manufacturing handoff.
  Ensure all designs meet performance specifications, safety standards, and cost targets.
• Simulation & Analysis:
  Conduct mechanical simulations, stress and tolerance analyses, and feasibility studies to ensure design integrity and durability.
  Use SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent tools to validate structural performance under various operating conditions.
• Documentation & Standardization:
  Maintain up-to-date and accurate engineering documentation, revision control, and drawing archives.
  Establish and follow design best practices and standards to ensure uniformity and quality across all projects.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Work closely with manufacturing, electrical, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into final products.
  Support the sourcing team by providing design inputs for supplier selection and material specification.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design optimization, and process improvement through innovation and engineering excellence.
  Support the implementation of design changes to improve product performance and manufacturability.
• Project Management:
  Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high quality standards.
  Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and project planning sessions to ensure timely delivery and technical alignment.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Advanced skills in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling, drafting, and design validation.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical drawing standards.
• Experience with Sheet Metal Design, Machined Components, Welded Assemblies, and Plastic Parts Design is highly desirable.
• Analytical Ability: Strong knowledge of engineering principles, stress analysis, and manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and injection molding.
• Documentation Skills: Proficient in preparing detailed design reports, drawings, and change management documentation.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Capable of handling design ownership with minimal supervision.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
