Job Summary
The Salesforce Business Administrator, Commercial Operations will be responsible for the day-to-day functional administration, maintenance, and support of the Salesforce CRM platform, ensuring it operates effectively to meet the needs of the Global Commercial Organization. This role focuses on business process configuration, user enablement, adoption, and business validation functional enhancements — distinct from technical administration such as integrations, instance management, or infrastructure monitoring.
The Business Administrator will partner closely with the Commercial Analytics and Business Intelligence team, as well as IT, to optimize CRM processes, enhance data integrity, and deliver tools that support commercial strategy. They will lead functional testing of new features, aid in validating quarterly salesforce release functionality, and adoption assessments to ensure smooth rollouts and alignment with business requirements. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across regions to ensure Salesforce functionality supports business objectives, fosters adoption, and drives user productivity.
Responsibilities
- Functional System Administration: Maintain the Salesforce Production environment by managing territories, accounts, contacts, leads, pipelines, sales agreements, and other key fields. Collaborate with IT counterparts to configure automation (flows, validation rules, approval processes), best-practice user interfaces, and object setups, minimizing unnecessary customizations, within the sandbox environments.
- Testing & Release Adoption: Lead functional testing of new Salesforce features and enhancements, including quarterly Salesforce release functionality, to validate performance, identify potential impacts, and ensure readiness prior to release. Develop adoption strategies and coordinate change management communications.
- Marketing Support: Collaborate with the Marketing team to configure, launch, and monitor campaign performance within Salesforce and related platforms.
- Drip Campaign Execution: Build business processes and maintain reports to support automated drip campaigns that nurture leads and drive engagement.
- Marketing Automation Integration: Partner with IT to enable integrations between Salesforce and marketing automation tools, ensuring accurate data flow and campaign reporting.
- Campaign Analytics: Develop dashboards and reports to track campaign effectiveness, ROI, and lead conversion metrics.
- Data Management: Partner with the data governance team to ensure data integrity through regular maintenance, deduplication, and cleansing. Prepare data imports/exports and coordinate large data updates in alignment with governance standards with the assistance of IT resources.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with commercial users to identify areas where automation is feasible within the Salesforce environment. Work with the IT development process to aid in designing and deploying new business processes, workflows, and automation to improve efficiency and standardization within Lead to Cash.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Create and maintain reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for Sales, Marketing, and Leadership teams within Salesforce (Operational) and Incorta (Corporate). Provide visibility into system usage and adoption to relevant stakeholders.
- Executive Pipeline Analytics & Board Reporting: Lead the preparation, validation, and delivery of pipeline analytics for Board of Directors and executive leadership meetings. Ensure forecasts and pipeline health metrics are accurate, timely, and aligned across regions. Collaborate closely with Sales, Commercial Analytics, and Finance to highlight risks, opportunities, and trends, while delivering polished, executive-ready insights under tight deadlines.
- User Support & Training: Serve as the primary point of contact for second-line business Salesforce support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Develop and deliver user training, documentation, and best practices to promote adoption. Escalate to IT for system enhancements required and to validate training toward the salesforce user community.
- System Enhancements: Partner with IT and other technical teams to manage system upgrades, integrations, and new feature releases, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Manage the Salesforce key user team, first line support, to ensure all system enhancement requests are captured within Freshservice and escalated to IT to solution only when validated by the business.
- Compliance: Follow established CRM processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and data privacy regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Commercial Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and IT teams to ensure Salesforce supports reporting needs and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Increased adoption and usage of Salesforce across the sales organization.
- Timely resolution of Salesforce issues and requests.
Successful delivery of new functionality, enhancements, and automations within agreed timelines. - Maintain adequate user satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred. Salesforce Administrator Certification a plus (Sales Cloud, Manufacturing Cloud, SPM Suite, Revenue Cloud, etc.).
- Experience: 3+ years of functional Salesforce administration experience, preferably in a global sales or commercial operations environment. Experience leading functional testing and adoption strategies for system updates strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills (Functional Focus): Proficiency in Salesforce configuration, automation tools (Flow, Process Builder), data management tools (Data Loader), and report/dashboard creation (Tableau & Incorta).
- Business Acumen: Understanding of sales processes, lead-to-cash standard objects within Sales & Manufacturing Cloud, and CRM best practices.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.
- Problem Solving: Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze issues, and provide solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data management and documentation.
