This position supports the Correlation Research Division's assignment to provide timely, relevant, and reliable information to General Authorities and Church administrators to help them respond to the diverse challenges and opportunities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it shares its message throughout the world.
Under general supervision this position uses social research methods and skills to coordinate project efforts, perform advanced level tasks (e.g. advanced research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting) to support Correlation department leadership in fulfilling approved information requests and projects.
Responsibilities
- Research - Design research to answer partner questions. Collect, analyze, and interpret data. Participate in data collection (travel will be required). Produce research reports and products for sharing results.
- Consultation - Consult with partners to provide useful information and answers to their questions and issues.
- Scholarship - Develop conceptual products that synthesize ideas in a topic area.
- Leadership - Direct study teams. Help colleagues solve problems. Ensure the review of research.
- Management - Seek innovative ways of solving problems and improving research. Assist in some administrative tasks. Manage risks appropriately (legal, data privacy, etc.).
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in the social/behavioral sciences or closely related field (e.g., sociology, family science, women's studies, area studies, political science, etc.).
- Five to seven years professional experience in the social/behavioral sciences or closely related field. Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply but may be hired at a lower grade level.
- Experience conducting research in non-US regions (e.g., Africa, Asia, etc.) is preferred.

Worthiness Qualification:
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
Work Arrangement:
Flexible work arrangement that allows up to 4 days remote work each week. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Utah.
