This individual will provide strategic direction, oversee clinical dietitian staff, ensure high-quality medical nutrition therapy (MNT) across GA Foods’ programs (e.g. medically tailored meals, chronic condition nutrition, post-discharge meals), and act as a subject matter expert on nutrition care. The Lead Clinical Dietitian partners cross-functionally with operations, quality, culinary, care management, and regulatory teams to integrate nutrition strategy into GA Foods’ service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish workflows, protocols, and quality standards for nutrition services
  • Develop and refine GA Foods’ medical nutrition therapy programs
  • Lead initiatives for new clinical service lines (e.g. disease-specific nutrition, telehealth)
  • Monitor and apply industry trends, research, and regulatory changes
  • Ensure excellence and consistency in nutrition assessments, care plans, and interventions
  • Support the training, orientation, and onboarding of new clinical dietitians to ensure consistency in clinical standards, documentation practices, and service delivery expectations.
  • Oversee audits, chart reviews, KPI tracking, and quality improvement
  • Provide consultation on complex clinical cases
  • Collaborate with operations, culinary, menu development, and quality teams
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and cross-functional projects
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, healthcare documentation, and other regulations
  • Oversee training and internal audits to maintain compliance standards
  • Provide direct clinical consultation or review complex cases as needed
  • Develop educational materials for members, caregivers, and staff
  • Monitor client satisfaction and feedback related to nutrition services
  • Define and track key performance indicators for nutrition programs
  • Prepare and present regular reports for leadership
  • Use data to drive program improvements and innovation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required
  • State licensure or eligibility as required
  • Minimum 4–6 years of professional clinical dietitian experience
  • At least 1–2 years of leadership or program management experience
  • Experience in medically tailored meals, chronic disease nutrition, or post-discharge care
  • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based practice
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and nutrition software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Strategic, innovative, and adaptable leadership style
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Ability to travel occasionally and work in a hybrid or remote model

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of occasional lifting, carrying, or moving materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer work, documentation, and communication.
  • Visual and auditory ability to read information, communicate effectively, and interact in person or virtually.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
