We are looking for a Trade Compliance/Logistics Data Analyst to join our growing organization!

 

Qualifications


General Position Summary

 

The Trade Compliance/Logistics Data Analyst plays a key role in keeping global trade operations running smoothly by turning data into insight. This position combines attention to detail with big-picture thinking, ensuring the company remains compliant while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs. The analyst will prepare and validate duty drawback documentation, analyze CBP reconciliation data, and provide meaningful support on audits and special projects. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who thrives in Excel, understands trade and logistics, and can manage multiple priorities with accuracy and independence. This is a hybrid role and may involve periodic visits to the Vancouver, WA location for collaboration.


Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities


Duty Drawback & Value Reconciliation

• Gather, review, and validate documentation required for duty drawback claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CBP requirements.

• Perform detailed drawback calculations by reconciling import and export data, delivering reliable results that support financial recovery.

• Support value reconciliation programs by analyzing large datasets, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.

Data Analysis & Auditing

• Collect, inspect, and cleanse data from multiple sources to ensure quality and consistency.

• Audit customs entries, invoices, and supporting documentation to confirm accuracy and regulatory compliance.

• Translate raw data into actionable insights by creating reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for leadership.

• Suggest and implement automation solutions to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

• Maintain organized and compliant records that align with U.S. Customs recordkeeping requirements (19 CFR §163).

Operational & Project Support

• Partner across departments and with external brokers and logistics providers to collect and validate data for compliance purposes.

• Assist in creating compliance reports and tracking KPIs that highlight risk areas, trends, and cost-savings opportunities.

• Provide flexible support for special projects, including tariff reviews, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with team members to improve processes and share best practices.

• Proactively identify inefficiencies in data management and propose practical solutions.

• Contribute to building a strong compliance culture by supporting training initiatives and helping colleagues understand compliance requirements.

 

 

Specific Job Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data validation, and data cleansing).
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy
  • Effective communication skills with the confidence to raise questions and clarify needs.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being an engaged and supportive team player.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with ACE reporting systems, trade databases, or ERP platforms.
  • Experience with U.S. Customs duty drawback, reconciliation programs, or compliance auditing.
  • Understanding of import/export documentation and Incoterms.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in trade compliance, international logistics, or data analysis.
