What You Will Achieve
The Production Equipment Specialist has comprehensive and specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment needed for the position.
Has a comprehensive understanding of technical skills and operational knowledge.
Primary responsibility is to support manufacturing with any equipment issues or projects that are mechanical in nature. Each Production Equipment Specialist is assigned manufacturing lines of responsibility where they lead and coordinate all maintenance efforts throughout the year and during Shutdowns. Production Equipment Specialists are technical experts that assist Mechanics and Senior Production Operators with troubleshooting, repairs, and improvements to equipment. Additionally, the position will support Reliability Engineering initiatives. Production Equipment Specialists report to Maintenance Supervisors/Managers.
How You Will Achieve It
- Order parts as required to repair equipment.
- Assists with plant audits.
- Makes recommendations on equipment upgrades.
- Designs, order parts, and installs machine modification.
- Reviews SOPs.
- Assists with plant safety programs and safety awareness.
- Clearly communicate the supervisor’s instructions and schedules to the employees in accomplishing assignments to meet quality, security, productivity, safety, and SOP compliance.
- Prepare and update Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks relating to production equipment maintenance needs.
- Assures smooth or improved operation of production equipment by means of any of the following: planning and coordinating maintenance functions with supervisors, Senior Production Operators, and engineering personnel; using historical data to establish and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance procedures; troubleshooting or repair.
- Prepares purchase requisitions and traveling requisitions for spare parts used on production equipment. Endeavors to control costs of maintaining production equipment.
- Promotes teamwork, a positive work environment and an atmosphere that enhances continuous improvement.
- Actively contributes to the completion of project/work group/department tasks.
- All other duties on an as needed basis including but not limited to shutdown support and project support.
- Non- standard work is periodically reviewed with a focus on soundness of technical judgement.
- Aseptic gowning trained.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Applicant must have High School Diploma or GED + 4 years of experience.
- Required qualifications include the ability to trouble shoot through experience and industry knowledge, technical understanding, and comprehension of mechanical principles.
- Proficiently operate and maintain various standard maintenance tools and equipment including basic hand and power tools, multi-meters, and other mechanical equipment.
- Sense of urgency, accountability, and professionalism; ability to work independently and as a team; must be self-starter able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Familiarity of Current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP)
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Preferred qualifications include technical school/ Auto Mechanic Program Certificate and/or minimum of 6 years of Industrial maintenance/repair experience.
- EPA 608 Refrigeration certification will be required or obtained for this position for EPA compliance.
- Previous Pharma experience is preferred

The salary for this position ranges from $28.19 to $46.99 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
