- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pay vendors, verify federal id numbers; schedule and prepares checks; resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensure credit is received for outstanding memos; issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Maintain vendor data.
- Take vendor phone calls and answer questions.
- Respond to all vendor inquiries.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
- Manage new vendor setups including W-9 forms from vendors, process credit applications.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Protect corporation’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisors.
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Process three-part purchase orders, matching invoices, up to 100 plus line items.
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
- Process check requests.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with State Board of Accounts.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
- Maintain good attendance.
- Ability to operate personal computers and skilled in Google software, Microsoft Office, and district-specific applications.
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of School Trustees policies.

Position Details: | This non-exempt position works 52 weeks per year with 23 holidays per year that closely follow the EVSC school calendar. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Salary: |
Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked at least 120 days in a school year. New employees will begin on year 1. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and two or more years of Accounts Payable experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the board of school trustees. College courses in accounting preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications, specifically MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as AS400 financial system. Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
