Danbury Public Schools strives to foster the joy of learning while preparing our students for future challenges through a standards-based curriculum supported by a committed faculty, staff, and Board of Education. Cadre substitutes are an essential part of this mission. By providing rotating classroom coverage across our 13 elementary schools, cadre substitutes allow entire grade-level teams the dedicated time needed for data analysis, professional learning, lesson planning, and collaboration to strengthen instruction and improve student learning and outcomes. In addition to classroom coverage, cadre substitutes may assist teachers with student testing, organization and distribution of educational resources, and provide classroom aide support when needed. Cadre substitutes are scheduled to work five (5) days per week.
