 Why London, Ohio?

This position is responsible for the general cleaning and preparation of the Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy treatment area to allow for a safe and clean environment for patient care. Performs delegated tasks in patient and non-patient care areas as assigned by the supervising therapists. Supports the department Secretary by assisting with clerical duties. Participates in performance improvement activities of the department and daily management of infection prevention and control activities.  This is a full-time position with flexible dayshift hours.   

Primary Functions:

1.     Maintains equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and correctly.  Cleans and prepares patient care areas to ensure safe and efficient provision of care.     Follows department procedures for sterilizing equipment.

2.     Performs patient care tasks as assigned by the supervising therapists.  Abides by laws and rules governing the practice of Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy in the State of Ohio.  

3.     Provides clerical support for the Rehab Services department.     Schedules appointments and meetings.     Maintains calendars for Rehab Services staff.  Coordinates schedule with therapists throughout the work day.  

4.     Demonstrates thorough knowledge of billing, monthly statistics, supply/equipment requisition requests, and patient charges.

5.     Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.     Ensures confidentiality of patient records. Interacts professionally with patients and families and provides explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary.

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

Experience:

Previous clerical experience preferred.  

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledgeable in medical terminology of physical, occupational and speech therapies.     Knowledgeable in proper patient procedure, from first contact to discharge, to allow for complete and efficient practice patterns.  Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.  Demonstrates flexibility, ability to multi-task and effective organizational and interpersonal skills.  Basic knowledge of computers.  Basic knowledge of standard office equipment.  Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.  Demonstrates flexibility, ability to multi-task and effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
