Lexeo Therapeutics is seeking a talented and motivated Contract Associate Scientist to join our CMC team in New York City. This position will play a key role in developing and executing potency assays that support our gene therapy programs.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing in vitro cell culture, AAV transduction, and analytical assays, ensuring high-quality, reproducible data to support assay validation, qualification, and release. You will also organize, interpret, and summarize experimental data to inform ongoing development activities.

This is an on-site position that requires close collaboration with the Analytical Development team and other cross-functional groups within CMC.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on experiments in an internal in vitro laboratory, including routine tissue culture and assay execution
  • Generate high-quality, reproducible data from cell-based assays; analyze, interpret, and communicate results effectively
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to support assay validation and analytical deliverables
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members across CMC and other functional areas
  • Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient lab environment


  • Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in tissue culture techniques and familiarity with aseptic practices
  • Hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting; experience in gene therapy preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Benchling, Quartzy, or other electronic lab notebook/inventory systems
  • Certificate of Fitness for Non-Production Chemical Laboratories (C-14) a plus
