The Gas Distribution Dispatcher serves as the primary point of contact for internal teams, builders, contractors, and a secondary point of contact for customers. This role manages gas leak reports, dispatches field technicians, coordinates meter unlocks, maintains schedules, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adept at multitasking, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Gas Leak Response: Receive, document, and prioritize emergency/non-emergency gas leak reports; dispatch field technicians and track response progress, escalating high-priority issues as needed.
  • Coordinate Field Operations: Assign and create work orders for technicians and locators (e.g., meter paints, regulator replacements), ensuring timely execution and acknowledgment of tasks.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for internal teams, contractors, builders, and authorities; provide updates and coordinate with supervisors and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee Scheduling and Meter Unlocks: Process builder meter turn-on requests, manage rejections, and maintain technician on-call schedules in SAS and Smartsheet, including documenting on-call swaps.
  • Maintain Records and Compliance: Log all activities, register meter releases in HubSpot, update dispatch dashboards, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory protocols (e.g., DOT/PHMSA).

Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in dispatch, customer service, or utility services; emergency dispatch experience a plus.
  • Proficient in dispatch software (e.g., HubSpot, SAS), Microsoft Office; minimum 25 WPM typing speed.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills for coordinating with teams, contractors, and customers.
  • Knowledge of natural gas operations and safety regulations (e.g., DOT/PHMSA).
  • Ability to work 2nd shift (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with occasional overtime
  • Ability to commute to headquarters Monday-Friday.
  • Valid driver’s license; must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with GIS, CRM tools, or Smartsheet.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of utility operations or regulatory reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills for dynamic environments.
