Production Manager - Machine Shop - 2nd Shift na Raycap, Inc.

Job Summary: 

The Production Manager – Machine Shop is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the machine and integration processes, for an entire department. The Production Manager supervises staff, plans and approves production schedules, and manages department budgets. 

Establishes and enforces Raycap policies to ensure all staff meet quality standards while also maintaining a safe working environment. Analyzes and optimizes processes to identify ways to improve efficiency and increase productivity. This position is required to assess and enforce proper safety protocols and maintain appropriate communications with the Plant Manager.

Shift: 2nd Shift

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

• Machine Shop Management
  • Must have 5 years of direct machine shop management experience including punch press machines, laser cutting processes, press brake machines, and integration processes.
  • Experience running Trumpf press brakes, punch press, and laser machinery is preferred. 2-3 years of experience in other types of these machines is required.
  • Experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must have designed and implemented machinist and technician training programs to ensure optimal production is reached. 
  • Should understand how a BOM/Router process integrates into machining orders and how to prioritize production orders within an ERP system, experience with SAP ECC 6.0 or some version of SAP is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with material flow and SOP set up is required to ensure that from raw material to final product that the manufacturing processes are properly controlled.
  • Must have led a minimum of 10 sheet metal machinists/mechanics in the past to demonstrate a high level of success in a production environment.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to develop preventative maintenance processes, maintenance SOPs, and maintenance schedules to ensure machinery is optimal cared for and production processes remain on schedule to meet capacity.
• General Shop Management
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep the location accident-free.
  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Work closely with Production planning team to create and implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Maintain a staffing schedule based on the demand forecast.
  • Managing and motivating a team of production workers and supervisors.
  • Supervising all multiple manufacturing or assembly lines and coordinating with logistics department to meet customer delivery on time.
     

Job Requirements: 

• Minimum 5 years (preferred) experience in an industrial/metal manufacturing facility. 
• Experience in Precision Sheet Metal and Set up Operation of Equipment is required.
• Supervisory/Management experience of at least 10 or more persons in a production environment 
• LEAN certification preferred, experience with LEAN manufacturing
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints 
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
