Position Summary:

A Concrete Foreman is responsible for all activities and work for the concrete laborers, including preparing work schedules, providing training and mentorship, ensuring safety regulations, blueprints and drawings are followed and approving regular and overtime hours worked. The Concrete Foreman will also be responsible for materials required for concrete construction projects and maintaining tasks on scheduled as required.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for all job site management activities of the concrete laborers.

· Oversee all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing and curing.

· Directs workforce to meet operational goals in terms of volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule.

· Checks the forms that hold the concrete to ensure they are properly constructed, monitoring the wind, heat or cold and how it affects the curing throughout the entire process.

· Hands on supervisory role with the ability to effectively move machinery.

· Develop, train, and instruct laborers crews in best known concrete operation practices and procedures including safety.

· Work closely with safety personnel in coordinating safety training, accident and injury investigations and reporting and equipment or property damage incidents investigations and reporting.

· Build customer and employee relationships with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Consistently demonstrates professional conduct representative of MEI corporate mission, vision, and values.

· Prepare work schedules, estimating the amount of labor and materials required for concrete construction projects.

· Read blueprints and drawings to ensure work is being carried out accurately.


Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

· High School diploma or equivalent with continuing education in Business, Project or Construction Management or related degree a plus.

· Minimum ten (10) years proven concrete foreman experience or comparable field preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or rigging or machinery moving industry.

· Excellent interpersonal, management, supervisory and project management skills.

· Highly self-directed and motivated.

· Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.

· Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and other estimating and business software (such as Wright Plan/CRM) as needed.

· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Commercial driver’s license preferred.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to climb, stand; walk; sit; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to adjust straps, move equipment and perform daily duties; reach with hands and arms; push feet to operate crane; pull handles and grasp equipment; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The Concrete Foreman is subject to possible exposure to extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions and may also be subject to working weekends and holidays.
