WHAT IS THE ROLE?

You will be a Seasonal Team Leader on the production floor where you will oversee, manage and support your own team and lead process improvements for areas which will encompass one or more stations. This temporary position is full time with the work beginning October 27th ending on January 4th, 2026.

Zingerman’s Mail Order is the online and catalog shop for Zingerman’s. We ship great food and gifts all across America, everything from bread and cheese to cured ham and tinned fish.

The holidays at Zingerman's Mail Order are exciting, fast-paced and a lot of fun. We grow from a crew of 100 to a team of nearly 500. People come to work here from all walks of life. Moms, dads, students, retirees, landscapers, dancers. Some people are in between jobs. For some folks, this is their first job. Some join us for the season, while others may wish to seek long-term opportunities. Every reason for joining is welcomed—no prior experience required. Many of our current team members began their journey with us as part of our holiday crew!

What expectations and responsibilities can you anticipate as a Seasonal Team Leader?

  • Coaching your team on every shift.
  • Training your team to be ready to train new staff.
  • Providing constructive feedback and coaching your team to success.
  • Answering questions from your team members
  • Responding to and resolving local area problems
  • Coordinating with other Team Leaders to respond to and resolve wider area problems
  • Coordinating with Warehouse Managers & Leaders to create and sustain flow
  • Facilitating shift mini-huddles (meetings)
  • Ensuring team members have the resources they need to do their job (training, supplies, time etc.)
  • Taking attendance
  • Ensuring the area is working at pace by monitoring throughput and cycle times.
  • Monitoring help your neighbor (HYN) signals, responses and time to resolve
  • Coordinating with other Team Leaders and Warehouse Leaders to create temporary standard operating procedures (SOPs) and countermeasures
  • Working with team members to set up the next shift for a successful start.
  • Coordinating with other Team Leaders to maintain the all station information.
  • Stepping into workstations to cover openings as needed
  • Working with Warehouse Leaders and other Team Leads to allocate staff and balance the line.
  • Working with Warehouse Leaders and other Team Leads to set and meet daily goals.
  • You wear the appropriate Team Leader uniform on each shift. 


WILL I GET FULL TIME WORK?
We aim to. The more shifts you can work the more likely you’ll get full time. You must be available to work 40+ hours per week November through December.


WHAT ARE THE SHIFT TIMES & PAY?

Day Shift - $17.50 per hour - 9AM-7PM

Night Shift (begins 11/30) - $18.50 per hour - 8PM-6AM


WHEN DOES THIS JOB BEGIN?
If offered a position, training for this role will start on October 27th. You must be available to work Monday through Friday, 10/27-10/31, 9am-5pm.

WHERE IS THIS JOB?

Zingerman’s warehouse is located at 610 Phoenix Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. We are on the AATA bus route.


CAN I APPLY FOR YEAR ROUND WORK AFTER THE JOB ENDS?
Yes! We encourage it—almost all of us who work here started as seasonal holiday crew. We usually have a limited number of positions at Mail Order and elsewhere in the Zingerman's Community of Businesses after the job ends.

Requirements

 WHAT KINDS OF SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB?

  • You are available to work a minimum of 5 shifts per week. Preference will be given to those with open availability. 
  • The strength and endurance to lift 20 pounds during your shift while bending and being on your feet.
  • You can communicate fluently in English (reading, speaking and writing).
  • You must have experience training & coaching team members.
  • You are a problem solver. 
  • You model curiosity, open mindedness and scientific thinking
  • You are on time. You value punctuality and precision. 
  • You have the ability to speak clearly and enthusiastically about work processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • You love to deliver amazing service every day to all around you.
  • You love to learn.
  • You have prior experience in a leadership role.
