Flying Bark Productions is working on exciting projects such as Netflix's Stranger Things animated series, the recently announced Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Marvel Studios’ What If…?, Disney Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, as well as our production Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan.
Flying Bark is seeking a talented and experienced Senior CG FX Artist to join our dynamic VFX team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating high-quality CG effects across a variety of simulations, including particles, fluids, and destruction, with the ability to efficiently translate creative briefs into visually compelling results. This role requires a collaborative mindset, technical proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Maya, Houdini, Katana, and Nuke, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.
As a Senior CG FX Artist, you will not only deliver top-tier effects but also mentor junior team members, contribute to pipeline development, and ensure that all work meets the high standards of Flying Bark productions.

Key Responsibilities:
All responsibilities as reasonably required of a Senior CG FX Artist, including:
- Efficient execution of high quality CG effects ready for insertion into comp.
- Follow and match effects briefs, review notes and references carefully.
- Lookdev of effects to explore and establish new effects.
- Setup library of effects presets which can be loaded and applied to multiple shots.
- Generation of compatible caches to export into various software including Katana, Maya,Houdin
- and Nuke.
- Assist with training and provide ongoing support for junior crew members.
- Rendering effects as show compatible image format elements to insert into comp.
- Adopting the workflows outlined by Flying Bark pipeline and CG supervisor.
- Effective time management and achieving deadlines on time.
- Effect to include the full range of customary CG effects including particles, fluids, destruction and also particle systems to drive crowd cycle paths
And all other services as reasonably required by the Production Company.

- Ability to successfully take and interpret a creative brief, whether a verbal or visual brief;
- Be able to work within a team and maintain good team dynamics;
- Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks;
- Ability to self manage and complete tasks within production deadlines;
- Communicate and seek information when necessary;
- Be adaptable, flexible and responsive to changes.
Skillset:
- Experience producing effects using Maya.
- Proficient in Houdini.
- Ability to comp in Nuke.
- Experience using Katana for rendering.
- Valid work permit for Spain.
