- Oversees daily operations related to fleet, equipment, facilities, supplies, and uniforms to ensure readiness and efficiency.
- Manages inventory and procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, apparatus parts, uniforms, tools, and fire station furnishings.
- Coordinates with vendors and City procurement to manage bids, purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules.
- Develops and monitors preventative maintenance schedules and refurbishment plans for fleet and equipment to ensure operational integrity and compliance with NFPA standards.
- Provides quality control for purchased goods, vendor services, and internal maintenance procedures.
- Manages facility-related logistics, including maintenance requests, repair coordination, and equipment installation.
- Participates in the development of capital equipment specifications and attends inspections during acquisition and delivery.
- Supervises logistics and fleet staff and oversees the development of work procedures and training plans.
- Prepares and maintains detailed records, budgets, and expenditure reports for logistics operations.
- Provides logistical support during emergency responses, large-scale incidents, or special events.
- Participates in the Department’s efforts to maintain ISO and other accreditation standards.
- May respond to call-outs as needed and operate agency vehicles.
- Effectively and positively represents the City in delivering and performing work with colleagues and clients, irrespective of gender, race, religion, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, or sexual orientation.
- Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers.

Position Duties
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in logistics, supply chain management, public administration, fire science, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in logistics operations, preferably in a public safety or government setting.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Experience working with fire or EMS logistics, including knowledge of NFPA standards.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, vehicle maintenance, and facility logistics.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- FEMA ICS/NIMS Certifications (100, 200,700, 800) preferred
- Certifications in logistics, procurement, or public purchasing are desirable
- Valid Driver’s License: With proof of automobile insurance
- Background Check: Must have an acceptable background record
- Driving Abstract: Must have an acceptable driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory systems, and warehouse operations.
- Understanding of fire rescue operations, equipment, and fleet maintenance needs.
- Ability to supervise staff, manage budgets, and maintain accurate records.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory software, and procurement systems.
- Ability to act independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong customer service orientation when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, climb, sit, write, hear, speak and be required to exert up to 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves the ability to operate tools or vehicles. May require the use of fingers or hands to manipulate objects such as picking, gripping, or pressing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment that requires the employee to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Work may be performed in warehouse and/or field environments. May be exposed to heat, humidity, loud noises, and hazardous materials. Must be available for emergency response support as needed.

Examination: Depending on the number of applicants and the quality of their education and experience, the examination may consist of one or more of the following tests: written examination, performance examination, education and experience evaluation, oral examination and/or other job related examinations.
You will be notified of the time and place of your examination when you file or later by mail. A passing grade is required on each part of the process. Repeated participation in any examination for which the same test is used is limited to once every 6 months. Your examination results will be sent by email as soon as possible after the grading is completed.
Final passing grades are used to determine a candidate's position on the eligibility list of successful candidates. Departments fill vacancies from this list. The top three names are considered for each vacancy unless otherwise modified. Those not appointed are returned to the eligibility list for further consideration in accordance with the Civil Service Ordinance. Your name will remain on a register for one year for open competitive examinations and two years for closed competitive except where labor contract conflicts.
Your name may be removed from an eligibility list prior to one year according to Hollywood's Civil Service Ordinance or labor contracts. Your eligibility may be canceled if you refuse a position or if you are not available for work. You are responsible for notifying the Employment Office, in writing, of any change in your address or telephone number.
