Compliance & Risk Manager - Full Time

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Compliance & Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with laws, regulations and standards with Title 22, CMS CoP, HIPAA, TJC, and Patient Safety standards.  Fosters Just Culture to support reporting errors in a blame-free environment and speaking up to identify and resolve patient safety issues. The role is responsible for coordinating and facilitating activities related to hospital-wide compliance and risk management to prevent claims against the hospital with a focus on promotion of integrity, high reliability principles, and patient safety.  This role will facilitate activities related to  high risk processes, as well as serious safety event prevention and cause analysis. This position is also supportive of quality improvement through the use of PDSA methodology and is active in accreditation and regulatory compliance. 

 
Education:
  • ASN or Bachelor's in healthcare associated area; RN preferred
  • BSN or Master's preferred.  
  • Relevant experience will be considered.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in acute care setting.  
  • Experience in hospital related risk and quality of care management activities is required. 
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing occurrences, data,  and medical records.  
  • Ability to identify trends and create corrective action plans. Ability to provide adult education.  
  • Effective communication skills, demonstrates collaboration skills and maintains effective collegial relationships with others.  
  • Sound knowledge of  TJC, CDPH, and CMS standards.  
  • Recognizes and maintains appropriate level of information sharing and confidentiality of sensitive and legal Hospital issues.  
  • Adept at interpersonal relations including oral and written communication.  
  • Able to manage people effectively, create projects timely, facilitate meetings and committees.  
  • Must possess computer skills, to include Microsoft programs with an emphasis on Excel.     
Licenses and/or Certifications:
  • Current California RN License preferred.  
  • Certification and training in Quality, Compliance, and/or Risk Management preferred.
