At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our finance teams play a sacred role: safeguarding consecrated funds and supporting the Church’s mission worldwide. We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our Area Office in Frankfurt on a 1-year temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
Initiate and maintain general ledger files to support accurate and meaningful financial statements.
Reconcile accounts, review reconciliations, and ensure all outstanding items are properly cleared.
Consolidate accounting information for inclusion in financial statements and management reports.
Administer payroll data and records, including wage/salary changes, deductions, new hires, terminations, and leave of absence.
Review and verify payroll input/output data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax and labor laws.
Liaise with external payroll partners and governmental entities regarding payroll and reporting requirements.
Coordinate with Human Resources and other internal departments on workforce changes impacting payroll.
Collect data and participate in internal and external payroll audits.
Assist in preparing financial estimates, expense reports, and payroll variance reports.
Provide recommendations to improve payroll and accounting procedures for compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field.
Relevant work experience in payroll and accounting functions.
Solid understanding of payroll systems and accounting principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred:
Professional qualifications (e.g., CPP, CIMA, CMA).
Ability to reconcile accounts and analyze payroll variances.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of an additional European language.
