Reports to: Ticketing Manager

Pay Range: $16.66-$17.34/hr

Supervises: N/A

Status: Winter Seasonal, Full-Time or Part-Time

TICKET SCANNER JOB SUMMARY:

The Ticket Scanner is responsible for ensuring that all guests have valid lift access through accurate and efficient ticket scanning. This position plays a crucial role in resolving guest scanning issues, identifying fraudulent lift access, and maintaining a welcoming, professional presence at lift entry points. Ticket Scanners are expected to work cooperatively with other departments and maintain a high level of guest service in a dynamic, outdoor environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:

  • Scan guest passes: Accurately scan all guests accessing the lift system.

  • Troubleshoot scan issues: Identify and resolve ticket scanning error messages using established procedures.

  • Maintain scanner functionality: Keep scanning equipment in excellent working order at all times.

  • Maintain cleanliness: Ensure that scanning stations and surrounding areas are clean and orderly.

  • Collaborate with teams: Work cooperatively with other departments in a supportive role.

  • Guide guests: Clearly communicate instructions and provide proper direction to guests in a professional manner.

  • Work in all weather: Be prepared to work outside in varying winter conditions.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Record keeping: Accurate documentation and legible handwriting are essential.

  • Team cooperation: Willingness to work effectively with the Lift Crew, other departments, and guests.

  • Positive attitude: Maintain a friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor with both coworkers and guests.

  • Organizational skills: Keep workspaces clean and well-maintained.

  • Problem-solving ability: Use practical reasoning in situations with limited standard procedures.

  • Instruction interpretation: Understand and follow instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Personal integrity: Demonstrate honesty, reliability, common sense, and respect in all duties.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


No specific educational credentials are required. Previous experience in guest service, outdoor operations, or similar roles is preferred. On-the-job training will be provided to ensure proficiency in scanning procedures and equipment use.
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires standing for extended periods, often in cold and inclement weather. Ticket Scanners must be able to lift and operate scanning equipment throughout their shift, remain alert in crowded lift areas, and assist guests in a physically active setting. Good vision, hearing, and communication skills are essential to ensure safety and provide direction.
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates outdoors near moving mechanical parts and low or high-voltage lift equipment. Ticket Scanners are regularly exposed to winter conditions, including snow, ice, wind, and extreme cold. The role may also involve wet or humid conditions and occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock or vibration. Noise levels can vary from moderate to very loud depending on the task and lift location. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Seeing: REGULARLY

-Must be able to read reports and use computer

Hearing: REGULARLY

-Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers.

Standing/Walking: REGULARLY

-Consistent and constant standing and walking while in operation.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: REGULARLY

-The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods. 

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: REGULARLY

-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: REGULARLY

-Must be able to write, type, and use phone system
