DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

Kingsley Montessori School is seeking a Floating Teacher to support students and faculty in our Early Childhood program, specifically two Kingsley Entry Program (KEP) classrooms. This individual will join a team of committed educators and gain hands-on experience working in a school setting. The KEP Floating Teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction, transitions, and routines for students ages 3–6. The candidate must possess a genuine interest in early childhood education and an eagerness to learn from experienced faculty. Candidates with prior experience working with young children are preferred.


The KEP Floating Teacher will assist faculty with organizing classroom materials, facilitating on-campus learning, overseeing indoor and outdoor play, supporting transitions, covering lunch duties, and providing continuity into the afterschool program. Additionally, the KEP Floating Teacher will contribute to creating a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.


This full-time position reports directly to the Director of Early Childhood Education. We actively seek candidates who will reflect and enhance the racial, cultural, and gender diversity of our school community.


Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Prioritize the safety, wellbeing and supervision of a group of students.
    • Participate in and support special events/activities.  
    • Participate in training initiatives and Faculty Professional Development Days.  
    • Support classroom routines and behavioral expectations set by administrators and lead teachers.  
    • Maintain professional communication with others and exhibit a receptive and open demeanor.  
    • Perform arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, bathroom, and hallway monitoring, and other support duties as needed.


     

    QUALIFICATIONS:


    College Degree required.

    • Ability to work closely with students, peers, coworkers, and mentors effectively.  



    Kingsley is committed to equitable compensation for all faculty. Faculty salaries are determined based on an experience-based step scale, ensuring fair pay for those with similar teaching experience. Starting salaries for this role begins at $41,000.
