SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for overseeing the performance and compliance of assigned contracts and programs. The role involves leading the team in the regular analysis and interpretation of complex contractual data, advising leadership on contract matters, and developing strategic solutions. It includes evaluating and mitigating contractual risks, managing change control processes, and ensuring the effective flow down of contract requirements throughout the organization.
This position reports to our General Counsel, Adam Brink. This position will also require regular cross-functional communication with our Senior Vice Presidents of Divisional Operations.
This is a full-time FLSA-exempt position. It requires at least 40 work hours per week, with the ability to work more if necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and maintain accountability for the performance of assigned contracts and programs.
- Lead the team in analyzing, interpreting, investigating, and researching complex contractual information.
- Guide team members and leadership on contract interpretation and develop formal recommendations and solutions.
- Evaluate contractual risk, particularly regarding cost exposure (e.g., compensation for damages or performance-related costs).
- Establish and oversee review processes to mitigate risk throughout contract performance.
- Manage the contractual change control process in alignment with program management procedures.
- Ensure effective flow down and compliance with contract requirements across relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like business, law, or finance, coupled with 5-10+ years of experience in contract management or a related area.
- A deep understanding of contract law and principles is a fundamental requirement.
- Proficiency with contract management and document management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to explain complex contract terms to non-legal professionals.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills are vital for handling discussions with clients and vendors.
VALUED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Microsoft Office Suite: Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are expected.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are necessary for managing internal and external stakeholders.

While performing this job, the employee may be regularly required to drive to and from the jobsites/assigned locations, sit, walk, stand, talk, hear, and smell. A major portion of the employees’ tasks require extensive walking around the jobsite, including active construction areas. The employee is required to traverse uneven terrain and work from ladders, scaffolds, and other structures, as well as work at variable heights. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, controls, and for fine motor coordination like computer work. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
For Field positions, while performing this job, the employee must frequently inspect the project site and may be exposed to ongoing construction activities, vibrations, noise, and various outside weather conditions (in all seasons). Work environment involves moderate risks which may require safety precautions. The noise level in the work environment may range from quiet to loud. The proper use of Personnel Protective Equipment (including but not limited to safety boots, hardhat, and protective eyewear) is required on the jobsite.
