Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support enterprise data initiatives in Austin, TX. This role focuses on analyzing business requirements, documenting data flows, and identifying opportunities for process and system improvements. The analyst will translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements, including Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria, to support development and QA teams.
The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and system capabilities. Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze business objectives, requirements, and current processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct cost/benefit analysis of proposed solutions and evaluate system feasibility.
- Document business requirements, data flows, and process improvements.
- Write Epics and User Stories with acceptance criteria to clearly communicate requirements.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to align functionality with business needs.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather and validate requirements.
- Develop and maintain data-related documentation, including data dictionaries, data mapping, and BRDs.
- Design and present visual models, dashboards, and performance reports to communicate insights.
- Lead data-focused meetings and resolve data-related issues.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years as a Business/Data Analyst in IT with strong analytical and documentation skills.
- 10+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex data-driven problems.
- 10+ years of experience designing and optimizing data workflows and management processes.
- 10+ years of experience writing Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria.
- 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining data dictionaries, BRDs, and data mapping.
- 8+ years of experience creating and presenting visual models, dashboards, and reports.
- 8+ years leading data-focused workshops and stakeholder interviews.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years managing multiple data projects concurrently.
- 3+ years working knowledge of eligibility rules for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF programs.
- 3+ years experience interpreting and applying policy in integrated eligibility case management systems.
