Lydech Thermal Acoustical Solutions (TAS) manufactures industrial thermal insulating solutions, and thermal and acoustical barriers for heat abatement and sound dampening applications.  Lydall TAS serves a number of markets with the majority of products sold to original equipment manufacturers and tier-one suppliers. Job Summary:

The Incoming Receiving Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, components, and products meet established quality standards and specifications before they are accepted into inventory or used in production. This role involves performing detailed inspections, verifying documentation, and collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to resolve quality issues. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, preventing defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete and record all steps of Quality Inspection for incoming materials according to established SOP.
  • Verify received supplier inspection data, test data, and material certificates correlate with established standards.
  • Review quality alerts, corrective actions, and containment activities.
  • Must be familiar with root cause and corrective action methodology and able to analyze received 8Ds.
  • Serve as an active 8D team contributor, assisting in identifying root cause(s), permanent corrective action and preventative measures (mistake/error-proofing). Provide root-cause and corrective action reports.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
  • Report nonconforming product (i.e. Holding, Disposition, daily reporting). Assist in the development of inspection criteria and standards, and identifying and submitting changes and corrections where needed.
  • Report nonconforming products (i.e. Holding, Disposition, daily reporting.) and correspond with suppliers.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to maintain inspection documentation and records.
  • This job will contribute towards the creation and maintenance of supplier scorecards.
  • Conduct operator training: quality alerts, proper use of gage according to instructions, product inspection according to the inspection check sheet, and any other quality-related training as it pertains to incoming material.
  • Provide immediate feedback to team leaders, Quality Engineering and management regarding compliance issues as directed.
  • Provide disposition of nonconforming or suspect material per guidelines from Quality Engineering.
  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required.
  • This job function will occasionally be required to support other shifts and should be flexible enough to move across shifts to provide training.
  • May be required to perform receiving inspection on purchased components or outside process materials.
  • Support the Quality Department in maintaining compliance with ISO/IATF standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • This job will be required to participate in process audits.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

  • High school, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English. Possess strong communication skills.
  • Computer knowledge with experience using Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Have the ability to actively participate in cross-functional teams and effectively interact with its members.
  • Have the ability to demonstrate the proper inspection methods for parts and the completion of the inspection check sheet for all attributes.
  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
