POSITION PURPOSE:
The Sr. Technology Project Manager (TPM) facilitates project management discipline to enable teams in the successful completion of technology and product related projects and work efforts -- encouraging and enabling individuals to identify themselves as a team and motivating the team to keep projects moving steadily toward successful completion. The TPM is the primary point of contact during the project. The Sr. TPM ensures that the project/product team, sponsor, internal and external stakeholders are all continually communicating and collaborating regarding project/work goals, timeline, expectations, protocols, risks, constraints and assumptions. In addition, the Sr. TPM assists in the resolution of project roadblocks and decisions needed, either by assisting or escalating. The Sr. TPM is expected to utilize, champion and contribute to the continual improvement of ITA Group processes including the Project & Process Management (PPM) Framework.
A Sr. Technology Project Manager is viewed as a key leader across the organization. With their technology focused project management expertise and system knowledge, they serve as mentors to less experienced team members. Sr. Technology Project Managers have the ability to lead various types of complex technology projects, have exceptional technology and business acumen and are capable of working with many different stakeholders including Sr. Leadership. A Sr. Technology Project Manager has high expectations for overall performance and accountabilities and is expected to set a positive precedent for behavior, attitude and contributions to every opportunity, department training, and within department and enterprise projects.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Coordinate assembly of team members for complex technology project and product execution; may include assessment, development and delivery of internal and external projects in partnership with key Solution Line Product Managers.
- Establish clear and agreed upon roles and responsibilities and enable individuals to identify themselves as a team.
- Facilitate timely scope and contract execution with client and/or third-party suppliers, to achieve a positive outcome for both ITA Group and our clients.
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as project delivery timelines, budget adherence, stakeholder satisfaction, and team velocity to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Facilitate and ensure ongoing sponsor, team and stakeholder communication and collaboration on: project goals, timeline, expectations, protocols, project status, constraints and risks.
- Ensure internal and external team members are aware of deadlines and understand the impact of delays.
- Facilitate effective and continuous project planning by project team in order to: maintain planning documentation and communication plans, monitor and balance tasks among the team, manage the project timeline, and motivate and inspire team members to keep projects steadily moving toward successful completion.
- Manage complex program(s) within agreed upon scope, budget and timeline; facilitate and develop detailed scope, project plans, timelines, and resource allocations with internal and external team members and/or stakeholders.
- Manage internal and external project budget to deliver maximum results for the approved cost. Track and forecast actual costs to budgeted costs.
- Facilitate project risk analysis and management practices; includes identify and prioritize risks before they occur; conduct a quantitative risk analysis to estimate overall project risk; respond to identified high-priority risks; and monitor and control identified risks and responses to them.
- Facilitate resolution of issues, challenges and/or roadblocks within the team and escalate roadblocks and decisions when needed. Serve as the ‘go to’ resource for all internal and external team members, including Senior Leadership, with questions about the given project, challenge, issue and/or conflict.
- Facilitate effective meetings: document and share decisions made, encourage full participation of attendees, create a safe environment for sharing ideas and opinions, ensure meetings result in actionable outcomes clear to all participants.
- Identify and share information and lessons learned that have the potential to impact other projects, ITA Group’s strategic direction, operations, and/or organizational risk.
- Utilize and champion the Value Chain and Project & Process Management (PPM) Framework contributing to improving the value of both it and the PPM department.
- Mentor and coach team members on key product management, project management, negotiation skills, and facilitation skills. Promote thought processes such as continuous improvement, root cause thinking and innovative solutions.
KEY STAKEHOLDER EXPECTATIONS
- Deep Technical Program Leadership: Lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives with a strong command of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile, hybrid, and waterfall methodologies. Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- SaaS Platform Deployment Expertise: Demonstrate hands-on experience with the deployment and configuration of multi-tenant SaaS platforms, including managing client-specific enablement and customization within shared environments. Navigate the intricacies of platform scalability, tenant isolation, and release management to ensure seamless delivery.
- Agile-to-Deployment Enablement: Translate Agile development outputs into successful enterprise-wide deployments, ensuring readiness across environments, teams, and client-specific configurations. Anticipate and resolve friction points between iterative development and broader rollout strategies.
- Outcome-Oriented Delivery: Prioritize delivery of business outcomes over strict adherence to requirements, use a value-driven approach to scope, prioritize, and adapt project plans. Apply critical thinking to assess trade-offs and escalate decisions that impact delivery timelines or quality.
- Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior leadership, product owners, and external partners to align project objectives with organizational strategy. Facilitate transparent communication and decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Technology Team Integration: Operate as an embedded leader within the Technology organization to ensure alignment with architectural standards, security protocols, and platform roadmaps. Contribute to the evolution of internal frameworks and best practices, particularly within the Technology and Product Development domains
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Six Sigma or other accredited certification preferred.
- Minimum ten years of related experience in customer-facing technology focused project management for complex projects working with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of establishing and managing successful customer relationships.
- Experience leading complex software development projects leveraging agile methodologies.
- Strong personal leadership abilities including team building, meeting management, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, collaboration and prioritization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority and influence at all levels.
- Ability to analyze business needs on a case-by-case basis, think analytically, and solve those needs in a creative way with cross-functional team members and clients when a simple solution is not available.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks.
- Ability to apply and facilitate systems and process thinking.
- Demonstrated willingness to effectively question and challenge assumptions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.

- Proficiency in office productivity applications and technologies.
- Proficiency in program and project management applications preferred (e.g., Jira, Asana, Workfront, Monday, MS Project).
- Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
- Ability to listen, understand and respond to internal and external customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
